Men's Boxes and Women's Crossing Lines: The Way We Think!

I am sitting here looking at the computer checking my morning sites when I come across a couple of things that spark my interest and my attention all at once. I see Sunshine625’s hub on a slim waistline. I notice RealHouseWife published a hub called Do You Speak Manguage, which instantly reminds me of a video I had once seen about the difference between men’s brains and women’s brains. I am also watching the clock because I know I have a strict schedule to keep and thinking about when I will fit in a workout today as well as eating. I am remembering the conversation I had with my boyfriend last night about his business and trying to think of a way to make it as successful as possible so that I can stop worrying about money, start planning for a wedding and a family and focus on school all while pondering some fan mail I received.
While all of this is crossing my mind I start thinking about what I am going to write today. My conclusion… write about what I am thinking! Now if you have so far managed to keep up with me and you are a woman, I am not surprised, but if you are a man I am impressed! You see this seemingly random string of thoughts all connect to various parts of my life and to a man they probably do not make a lot of sense. After all how does a hub about manguage remind me of my fan mail? Well okay so that one is pretty easy to understand. You see the fan mail was left by a man who was telling me that I am not the same person everyday even though I seem to know who I am, which in truth means to me that I do not know who I am. Now being a bit unusual I greatly enjoyed this fan mail, but it did make me think. Was this supposed to be a compliment or perhaps it was supposed to help me find myself better. I am not really sure, but the point is that I would never have said something like that and the reason being is because I am a woman!
So what is the difference between everything that crossed my woman’s brain in such a short time and the way a man might think about it? There are two differences. The first deals with a conversation I had that discussed how men and women think in different terms. Men think in more solid terms such as ‘I can’ or ‘this is true’ or ‘that was a great play’ etc. Women think with more emotion such as, ‘Well I can understand how that would be true if that were all to be true, but what if…’ or ‘well the play was successful and so it seemed to be a good play, but they almost got flagged and that would have been disastrous to the rest of the game!’ etc. Women expect to vent frustrations, cry into shoulders when needed, and above all see and feel the love of family and friends. Men will just ‘rub some dirt on it’ and get through with their personal strengths and if they care about somebody they show it through compliments and facts instead of by saying ‘I love you.’
The second main difference between men and women is related to this video. Go ahead and take a few minutes to watch it.
Now that you are better informed I will continue as to what the second main difference is. This difference is in the way our brains process things. To me all of my thoughts, beliefs, values, etc seem to be connected and they make sense. They do not contradict each other and although they say different things when read or told individually, the truth is I understand them. To a man they have one specific way of thinking about all the important things in their life. The way to deal with money sits with one ideal while the way to deal with a job makes sense in a totally different way. For me, and other women I am sure, the way to deal with money might be this way, but it depends on my job, my family, my house, and what else needs to be done in my life. Therefore there might be a slight variation in my beliefs because it is dependent on so much else in the world!
Now this is only a taste of the difference between men and women and although a lot of people seem to fit the stereotype of their gender that does not mean that you have to match! From my opinion the truth depends on the person! (If that isn’t a woman’s answer I do not know what is!) Still it is a good thing to understand the opposite sex and maybe now you will understand all about the boxes and the criss-crossing lines of emotion!

Myth - Awesome:) I think women are so much more emotional in thought that it does come out on paper. Men seem to be shorter and more to the point unless they are really vested in something.
I think the fan mail is interesting and we just can't guess what he really meant because we have nothing else to go on! lol I do see lotsa ! in your writing! LOL

RHW: lol... it is too funny to notice the differences even in our writing. Which you did an amazing job of covering :-) I always use a lot of emotion and quite honestly I write the way I talk, which I know is not correct. Still I can not help it. I do not want to be a cold person and I feel as if writing can sometimes lack so much emotion. How else to warm it up then by adding ! and :-) lol. First off.... those pictures are way off... My "I Told You So Compartment" Is so much bigger than the one you have featured. LOL
Ok - so there is this book. It is called Women are like Spaghetti and Men are like Waffles. It is basically the same concept as what you just outlined right her only in about 100 extra pages. But you are very correct. Women have a tendency to connect everything to anything. You could be talking about paying the bills and then wonder what you are going to do for supper tonight because you have nothing to eat and you most go to the store and there you really should pick up some more wash clothes because your son flushed one down the toilet and you wonder if the toilet is the dirtiest thing in your house but then you remember your daughter learned from her science fair due to another project that is definately not the case and a case of beer sounds really good right now even though I am not doing anything even close to stressful since I already ironed all the laundry and folded all the clothes and I need to go shopping because non of my clothes fit me even though today was a crappy workout day and I can't wait for it to be over because I am ready to go to bed!

I laugh every time I think about it because every guy I've ever met seems to prove his way of thinking to me pretty quickly. Hi, Mythicalstorm, Living with 'one female', I can attest to some of our differences, but I don't like making generalizations. Too often an irrational and emotional stance can cloud her judgement. Imagine, talking to me about people on other planets like they are a foregone conclusion, it drives me nuts.There is never a rational method to get from A to Z, lets just get to Z and it would be so much better! Cred: I know you don't like to make generalizations, but I bet you really do see some of the differences between you and her that make you go... yup she is a woman! lol. I think that all the time with my guy. He will randomly do something that I would NEVER even think about doing and I can't prevent myself from being like, well he sure is a man! What you mentioned in this hub and the ones pinpointed in the video (which is by the way so hilarious, I so can relate!) is absolutely what I love about men. I just relish their peculiarity and how they are capable of driving women nuts or head-over-heels-over head (and so on...)

What a great hub. Funny as hell! I did notice 2 mistakes in the female brain photo.
The Gossip Control Center is way too big. Gossip control means controlling gossip. Women are good at spreading gossip not controlling it.
The Shiny things and Diamonds olfactory portion is too small. I'm thinking you should switch Gossip Control with the Shiny Things and that would be a better representation.
Of course I'm a guy.

I love shiny things! and I am not so crazy about gossip. Plus this does not really represent a female brain because it is boxes just like the guys... hmm maybe I should change the picture!
